The Porsche Panamera steps up its game.

Porsche has elevated the performance, comfort and principle experience of their redesigned Panamera this year, offering a new standard for new-generation sports cars.

First thing’s first: power. The Panamera Turbo S model features a staggering output of 463kW and 605 lb-ft of torque, a good step up from the previous Turbo flagship with a combustion engine. This increase in performance, paired with the overhauled four-litre V8 biturbo engine, enables the Turbo S to reach a top speed of 315 km/h and accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds in Sport Plus mode. Claiming best-in-class performance, this top-of-the-range model out-performs the previous Panamera Turbo in every regard.

The capacity for enhanced performance and handling in the Turbo S model has already proven successful, with an official record-setting lap on the world's most demanding race track, the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Test driver Lars Kern completed a lap time of 7:29.81 minutes on the 20.832 kilometre-long track, setting the record in the "executive cars" class.

In continuing the pursuit of their E-Performance strategy, Porsche has also introduced the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid to their range of plug-in hybrid models. While enhanced chassis components, control systems, new-generation steering controls and tires create a more comfortable and sporty driving experience, the new drive system boosts the all-electric range by 30 per cent compared to previous hybrid models. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid is equipped with a 134 hp electric motor combined with the eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and the 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine with a 443-hp system output for an integrated 552-hp system output, a maximum system torque of 553 lb-ft and fuel consumption of 2.3 – 2.0 l/100 km.

Other updates to the Panamera lineup include optimizing the V8 biturbo engine of the Panamera GTS, increasing the power output to 473 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque, 20 hp more than its predecessor. A standard sports exhaust system with asymmetrically positioned rear silencers and an aspirated engine gives the GTS a traditional V8 sound characteristic of a classic sports car.

Maximizing on corner performance and optimizing control for the incredible power on the road, three-chamber air suspension, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the roll stabilization system Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport) including Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) have been uniquely optimized to each specific Panamera model.

The redesign of the Panamera lineup offers a more significant visual presence on the road with a sharper appearance. Simultaneously, in addition to the sports saloon, the new Panamera models can be ordered as Sport Turismo or Executive body type that offers a lengthened wheelbase depending on the drive system. The Turbo S is now differentiated by the broader side air intakes and heightened elements in the exterior colour that emphasize the vehicle's width.

GTS models now include darkened Exclusive Design tail light clusters and new 20- and 21-inch wheels added to the wheel range of ten different designs available.

As for tech in the Panamera models, the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) includes additional digital functions and services such as Voice Pilot online voice control, Risk Radar for constant road sign and hazard information, wireless Apple® CarPlay and other Connect services.

The Porsche Panamera is available for order and will arrive in dealerships in the middle of October.
